Rosie O'Donnell Clarifies Her 'Crush' On Elisabeth Hasselbeck Was 'Not Sexual': 'Sorry U Got Scared'

Rosie O'Donnell responds to Elisabeth Hassleback's outrage.

Rosie O’Donnell is insisting she never liked Elisabeth Hasselbeck like that.
The comedienne took to Twitter on Tuesday to clarify the comments she made about having a “crush” on her former View cohost hours after Hasselbeck appeared on Fox News and voiced her disgust over the whole thing.
As we reported, Rosie admitted in new excerpts from Ramin Setoodeh’s upcoming book, Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of The View, that she had “a little bit of a crush” on her conservative cohost during their time on the show, and even went as far to claim that there were “underlying lesbian tones on both parts.”
The decidedly heterosexual Hasselbeck spoke out on the comments on Fox & Friends Tuesday, slamming the 57-year-old for the “disturbing” remarks that she argued would be seen as an “objectifying women in the workplace” had they come from a man.

Well, Rosie responded to Elisabeth’s response hours later on Twitter, claiming that she “never objectified” the Survivor alum because her crush was “not sexual.”
Encouraging the former Fox & Friends host not to get her panties in a twist, the comedienne tweeted:

O’Donnell also made that clarification in the book, where she stated:

“[It’s] not that I wanted to kiss her. I wanted to support, raise, elevate her, like she was the freshman star shortstop and I was the captain of the team.”

Maybe Hasselbeck glossed over that part? Let’s be honest, she was probably already praying for Rosie’s damned soul at that point.
The 41-year-old doubled down on her stance while appearing on The View (where it all began!) Tuesday, telling the panel:

“I think what she said was reckless, untrue and, not only insulting, disturbing when it comes to how she felt about somebody in the workplace…If you replace what Rosie said and you take her name out and you put in ‘Reuben’ or ‘Robert’ then we would be in a situation where you would see the objectification of a woman in the workplace. That’s disturbing because where we may be really against that when it comes from a man to a woman, you don’t get a pass because you’re a lesbian objectifying a woman in the workplace. You just don’t.”

Hmm… sounds like H-Back hasn’t fully “forgiven” Rosie like she said she had.
Will these two ever get along?
