Nancy Guthrie has been missing for over a week, and her family is “losing faith” in the local police department.
According to a source for Rob Shuter‘s Naughty But Nice Substack on Saturday, Savannah Guthrie is growing concerned with the Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, an insider dished:
“He seems more focused on the cameras than the case. It feels like he’s putting on a show – almost like he’s trying to impress Savannah.”
Several other sources claim Chris’ emotional press conferences — which have seen him breaking down in tears — aren’t helping.

One insider complained:
“This isn’t about his feelings. Just do your job.”
The Guthrie family has also been left frustrated that the Sheriff has been on several TV shows, sparking the theory that he’s angling for more media gigs and possibly a deal with NBC, a source said:
“That kind of self-promotion during an active investigation is not going over well.”
Depending on how the case continues, we have a hard time believing NBC — where Savannah has worked for years — would partner with him in some way moving forward, but you never know. It certainly shouldn’t be his main objective right now!
An insider close to the situation put it bluntly:
“The family is losing faith in him. They want answers, not performances.”
Oof.
We can understand why they’re feeling this way, though, after so many days with so few answers and amid reports of mistakes made. We’re keeping them in our thoughts. This is such a horrific situation.
