Scarlett Johansson isn’t staying totally silent on the It Ends With Us legal drama like other stars!
The 40-year-old actress opened up about making her directorial debut with the upcoming film Eleanor the Great in a new interview with Vanity Fair on Wednesday. It’s a super exciting time for Scarlett as the film is about to have its premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. But unfortunately, something is casting a shadow over the entire project…
You see, the movie is partially backed by Wayfarer Studios. Yes, THAT Wayfarer. The company co-founded by Justin Baldoni. It’s not just that it’s awkward to be working with him at all right now, it’s even more sensitive for ScarJo! Justin is currently in a massive legal battle with her ex-husband, Ryan Reynolds, and his wife, Blake Lively! And we all know ScarJo’s unfortunate history with the couple, too! Blake and Ryan met when they starred in the disastrous Green Lantern together. And that was while he was married to Scarlett. Meanwhile, Blake was with her Gossip Girl co-star Penn Badgley.

While fans speculated the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants star was the cause of Ryan and Scarlett’s divorce, the story for a long time was the co-stars were just friends — and only dated after they both broke up with their respective partners. Anyway, when the mean girl accusations started against Blake last year amid the IEWU feud, an acclaimed writer dropped a bombshell — suspicious fans were right, and Ryan DID cheat on the Avengers alum! They claimed they had the story way back then, but even in 2010 Blake and Ryan’s teams were powerful — and used “threats” to squash the story! Damn!
The whole thing is super messy! And can you imagine how Scarlett felt about her huge career milestone being tied up with a production company involved in an all-out war with her alleged cheating ex? And his mistress, to boot? Our heads are spinning just thinking about it!
However, the Black Widow star didn’t say much about the debacle in the Vanity Fair interview! Scarlett simply acknowledged that while she never met Justin because he was filming It Ends With Us with Blake, she didn’t have a bad experience working with Wayfarer! Not like his leading lady! When the actor’s name was brought up, she laughed and replied simply:
“They were super supportive throughout the process. But yeah, such weird timing.”
“Weird” is one way to describe it! LOLz!
At least everyone can be sure she didn’t choose to work with Wayfarer because of their issues with Ryan! Since this was in the works back when It Ends With Us was filming.
