It may have been something of a surprise to see former NBA star Scottie Pippen and his wife Larsa file for divorce earlier this week, but as we are learning now, it was a rocky road the past few months between them.
Despite civil public statements from each regarding the split, the real story centers on this: cops were called to the Pippen home twice in the past three weeks for “domestic disturbances,” according to TMZ.

The Fort Lauderdale, Florida police came out to the Pippen house on October 2 after receiving a call, and found Larsa waiting in a car in front of the home.
She told cops at that point she had been involved in a “heated verbal argument” with Scottie, but she insists it never got physical between the two of them.
That issue ended without incident — Scottie offered to stay elsewhere for the night to calm things down, though Larsa ultimately decided that she would go and spend the night at a different location — and yet it wasn’t the last time cops were called.
Just two days later, on October 4, cops were called back to the Pippen home!

The details about the second domestic incident are less clear, but it doesn’t look like either Scottie or Larsa were arrested.
Ultimately, exactly two weeks after that second incident Scottie filed for divorce and, well, here we are.
2016 — the year of all kinds of celeb splits!
At least in this instance, we really hope the domestic disturbances are behind these two as they now must figure out how to co-parent their four children.
