Are They Really Making That Scream TV Show Without Ghostface?!

Scream
Say what now??
As you might have already heard, MTV is busily making a TV version of the classic Scream horror films.
But the reason you probably know about the upcoming series is because of all the behind the scenes drama that’s accompanied the show so far.
From messed up table reads to recasting before shooting even took place, Scream: The Series, hasn’t had the easiest run to air.
Well, you can add another issue to the plagued project, because the man behind the mask, R.J. Tolbert, just told the world that there won’t be the iconic Ghostface in the series.

The reason for leaving out one of the most memorable aspects from the original trilogy? Copyrights.
Apparently, The Weinstein Company owns the rights to the Scream franchise and isn’t putting the mask in the pilot. But, R.J. did stipulate that this doesn’t mean we’ll never see Ghostface on our TVs, just not right away.
Even with this strange news, we’re still decidedly excited for the show!
And for a number of reasons! We love us some Bex Taylor-Klaus from Arrow and The Killing, the fourth movie was so much freakin’ fun, and MTV has been on a role with its original series as of late.
We’re not gonna let some little mask scare us away!
