Selena Gomez 'Definitely Had Anxiety And A Panic Attack' Before Her AMAs Performance!

Seriously wishing the best for Selena Gomez after what sounds like a difficult night behind the scenes!

The Lose You To Love Me singer did her thing Sunday evening with a show-opening performance at the American Music Awards which had social media quickly chattering over the pop star’s obvious, raw emotion. But even though her on-stage output was powerful, to say the least, things apparently weren’t so great behind the curtain.

According to a source who spoke to E! News about it, the 27-year-old apparently put so much pressure on herself over the show-opening act that she suffered some ill effects (below):

“Selena definitely had anxiety and a panic attack before she went out and was putting a lot of pressure on herself.”

Oh no! So unfortunate to think of something making her so vulnerable and emotionally drained — and then having to go on stage in front of the world and perform. Wow…

The pop princess performed the aforementioned Lose You To Love Me last night, as well as Look At Her Now. Both songs are about moving on from heartbreak, so without a doubt there’s a lot of emotion tied in to both of those performances — and as you can see, the superstar was emotionally charged while singing LYTLM:

She started to really find her footing with her second effort, a more high-energy shot at Look At Her Now which also had Taylor Swift and Halsey rockin’ along from the crowd, showing their support for their friend:

After the performance, the former Disney Channel star took to Instagram and shared a series of pics of her stunning red carpet look, along with a special little comeback message for her fans:

“Feels good to be back. Thank you to my entire team and to my fans that stand by me. All of this is for you and because of you. excited for this chapter #sg2 @amas.”

Nice!! We can’t wait for this next chapter (and the new album), either…
