The fourth installment of SyFy‘s cringeworthy Sharknado series came back in full force on Sunday — and there was no shortage of incredibly ridiculous moments, celebrity cameos, and Star Wars references in The 4th Awakens!
Like its three predecessors, the film had plenty of off-the-wall moments that had no logical reason whatsoever — but this go-round really kicked up the craziness to a whole new level!
Ian Ziering returned as our favorite shark-fighter Fin Shepard, now living on a farm in Kansas raising his young son who believes his mother was a shark.

Little does the boy know that his mother April (Tara Reid) was actually resurrected as a robot (because, why not?) by her dad Gary Busey after her apparent death in Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No.
The heroes have a new team of allies — and returning badass David Hasselhoff — to take on the Sharknados, in addition to Sandnados, Bouldernados, Lightningnados, and Firenados! Yikes!
But the various nados don’t compare in laughability to the wacky guest stars — from Carrot Top playing an Uber driver (by far the most realistic part of the film), to Gilbert Gottfried playing a storm chaser, and some of the Real Housewives playing astrophysicists.
Ch-ch-check out the most HIGHlarious moments from Sharknado 4 (below)!
Though the world might be protected against Sharknados at the beginning of the film, thanks to Astro-X’s patented technology, the U.S. is still vastly unprotected from Sandnados!
So when a powerful desert storm hits Las Vegas and frees up the sharks kept in the giant tank of the Jurassic World-esque tourist attraction Shark World, our heroes immediately kick into action — along with a team of Chippendale dancers, who have a special way of fighting off the flying predators:

As the Sharknado gets more dangerous (sharks eating sharks eating sharks!), Fin busts into action with a Kylo Ren type chainsaw:

But with even more nados swirling up devastation (now we have cow-nados?), April prepares to step into battle with her new detachable hand that can become a chainsaw OR a lightsaber:

Despite our heroes’ efforts, the world is threatened by a “nuclear-nado,” which gobbles up the Hoff before taking out former Baywatch lifeguards Alexandra Paul and Gena Lee Nolan:

Not to worry, April and Fin are here to save the day in all their glory! Little Gil may think his mom is a shark, but little does he know, she’s a cyber-shark-fighting warrior:

The end of the film proves to be the ultimate test for the Shepards. Not only does little Gil have to rescue his eaten family members from the bellies of sharks, but April proceeds to resurrect Fin with de-fin-brillators — in the form of, you guessed it, two sharks:
