Well this was bound to happen.

Shia LaBeouf was arrested outside of New York’s Museum of the Moving Image, where his live stream art protest against President Donald Trump is stationed. Oh dang.

According to reports, the Holes actor was booked around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday morning for allegedly assaulting a man who was present at the rally. Apparently, the outspoken celeb was in the middle of live streaming his He Will Not Divide Us installation when a man walked in front of the mounted camera and said something which, clearly, upset LaBeouf. How do we know this?

Well, because the Transformers star responded to the man’s actions by allegedly pulling on his scarf and possibly scratching him in the process. Detective Pisano confirmed to Us Weekly:

“His victim was a 25-year-old male. For whatever reason, Shia grabbed his scarf that was tied around his neck and head, and pulled him to the ground. The man was left with scratches on his face and red marks around his neck.”

Oof. Although the unnamed victim refused medical treatment, the 30-year-old was still taken in by the police. Pisano continued:

“He was charged with misdemeanor assault. He has been released but will have to appear in court at a later date.”

Now, we don’t condone violence, but it seems like there have been many trolls trying to spoil the impactful demonstration. We mean, just the other day, Shia was seen yelling in the face of one white supremacist at his protest. His fellow protesters are even touting LaBeouf as a hero, as they told TMZ:

“Shia took a hit for us. There were all these Nazis here, he came out and tried to protect us.”

If this is true, we’re glad Shia stood up for himself. However, since the installation is slated to remain active throughout the duration of the Trumpster’s presidency, we think it’d be best for the industry vet to only use his words when dealing with trolls.

Nonetheless, the actor/activist has since been released from jail as one fan posted on Instagram:

Phew. But, hey, at least this time Shia was arrested for a righteous cause!
