Simon Barney, the husband of Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Barney, was arrested on Tuesday morning on a domestic violence charge.
The fight began over a getting custody of the couple’s dog. The two had been sharing the pup and he brought it back to her house on Monday night.
├óΓé¼┼ôHe was angry and threw the leash at her and hit her with it,├óΓé¼┬¥ claims a source. ├óΓé¼┼ôTheir kids were in the house and started crying. It was a bad scene.”
The two are going through a divorce and Tamra has a new house, along with a new boyfriend.
“The leash hit Tamra. She wasn’t sure what to do,” added the insider. “But she knew she couldn’t tolerate the violence. She called the cops.”
Simon texted her after the incident saying that the leash slipped out of his hands.
“He knew he had a problem at that point,” the source said.
Simon will be arraigned and is expected to enter a plea on Tuesday. He was taken into custody on $10,000 bail.
