Buckle up! Ashlyn Harris is pulling a Tom Sandoval.
The former soccer star appeared on Sunday’s episode of the Naked Sports podcast, where she opened up about her October 2023 split from ex-wife Ali Krieger… and her reasoning is reminding us a LOT of the Vanderpump Rules star’s icky excuse for why he cheated on Ariana Madix!
Ashyln first began by explaining that Ali’s love for soccer and their kids overshadowed all other aspects of her life, including intimacy:
“She loved the game so much and all she knew was how to sacrifice her life for the game. Then when you add children, which is a whole different layer. I just felt like I wasn’t a priority. I didn’t feel that sense of connection, whether emotional or physical. It was soccer, job, kids, and then somewhere down the line it was like, okay, but like what about me? What about me?”
So, she tried to suggest an “open marriage” so that she could get some action but still be with Ali:
“I started trying all these things, ‘let’s do an open marriage,’ and I’m like, that’s just not even me, dude. Like a year before we officially called it quits, that was like my last attempt of you know, if I’m not getting what I want, we want to keep this together, which is also the strains of the public eye placed on you.”

If this is reminding you of anyone, you might be thinking of Sandoval. Right?! Except instead of suggesting an open relationship to Ariana, he just went ahead and cheated on her. For MONTHS. Remember how Ariana explained it last year:
“The way that so many men act like they are entitled to your body and entitled to sex because you’re in a relationship with them. I am not your Fleshlight. I spelled out what I needed, but hello. It’s a two-person situation.”
Soooo did Ashlyn not see ANY of the Scandoval drama before publicly complaining about her lack of sex with her ex-wife??
The 39-year-old athlete went on:
“It’s not an easy conversation to have with anyone, to carry the shame of not feeling loved and wanted. It’s like I didn’t. I felt so embarrassed and I felt so much shame that I didn’t know how to tell people that, like, oh, my wife doesn’t want to touch me or doesn’t want to be intimate or doesn’t want this, and it’s like, how do you even f**king start that conversation that is uncomfortable?”
She continued:
“We weren’t intimate the entire part of our marriage. So that’s I mean, facts are just the facts. It is what it is, and it’s not you know, you have these conversations and this isn’t working for me. This feels hard, and you know, after week after week, month after month, year after year, you’re just like there’s nothing left to say, and then if you’re not growing together, you’re growing apart. I became a stranger, not only within myself but within my relationship.”
You know, we could totally give Ashlyn a few more points than Sandoval if she truly did talk to her partner first about her intimacy concerns. But as we know, but she’s rumored to have cheated on Ali with Sophia Bush before abruptly ending their marriage. Soooo, she seems to be in a very similar boat as the Bravo star. ESPECIALLY after these comments. Ya know?!
