Stephen 'tWitch' Boss' Family Blasts Allison Holker For Blindsiding Them With Book 'Campaign' -- And 'Cherry-Picking' What To Reveal About Dancer!

Stephen “tWitch” Boss‘ mother and brother are speaking out after the release of Allison Holker‘s book!

As Perezcious readers know, Allison’s new memoir, This Far: My Story of Love, Loss and Embracing the Light, has been stirring up controversy since she started promoting it because of all the secrets she is exposing about her late husband, who died by suicide in 2022.

Now, the former Ellen star’s mom Connie Boss Alexander and his younger brother Drè Rose are hitting back at the book — and especially the media campaign that they were totally blindsided by!

The pair sat down with Gayle King on CBS Mornings in a clip that aired on Friday (the full interview will be out on Tuesday). In the preview, the journalist wondered how they feel about the tell-all, with Drè saying:

“I think people deserve the ability to share their story. I get that. But how it was presented and how it was on a cover of a magazine and there was a public, you know, launch or campaign about it, we shouldn’t have to find out about that in the media. We’re a family.”

He confirmed that the family only found out about Allison’s People cover story last month when it was released. Oof. Allison shared some REALLY personal and private stuff about tWitch. We can’t imagine how it must’ve felt for his family to see that without a warning.

For the book, the SYTYCD alum relied on tWitch’s private journals to share some unknown details of his life, and when asked if they would be curious to read those diaries, Connie emotionally shared:

“I think so, just to feel closer to him, ‘cause these are his thoughts and maybe get a clearer understanding. You know, he’s my son. [They show] who he was and what he was thinking from time to time. So yeah, I think I would.”

Drè also wants to see those journals — but “in all of [their] entirety,” he explained:

“I think those journals will tell you a lot. I think there’s things in those journals that are good and bad, but I also [think] there’s journals about his personal life, his marital life, that are in there. I feel, believe, that there’s been a cherry-picking of things from the journals to reveal or share. And if we’re just gonna be completely honest, talk about it all.”

It’s a fair point… Allison, obviously, couldn’t have shared everything he wrote, but we bet she picked what looked best for her and the narrative of her memoir. But maybe Drè’s right — maybe there’s more to the story that his sister-in-law left out? We bet reading those journals would be very helpful for the family as they continue to process this loss and fight back against the allegations they’re so upset by!

For now, see the family speak out in the tense interview (below):

You can tell this has been so tough for them! Thoughts, Perezcious readers??
