The star of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is too afraid to watch her own show!
Taylor Frankie Paul — the creator of #MomTok AND the one who infamously exposed the Mormon group for “soft swinging” — appeared on the Virtual Reali-Tea podcast this week. During the convo, she admitted she hasn’t watched the Hulu show — because she’s afraid it could have a detrimental impact on her romance with her boyfriend and baby daddy Dakota Mortensen. Uh oh!

The 30-year-old, who has had a rocky romance with Dakota since the start, revealed she has a “little bit of anxiety” about hitting play on the show, sharing:
“I can be triggered easily.”
Specifically, she’s worried that a “whole therapy session” she filmed, in which she expressed “lots of emotions” while discussing the couple’s complicated relationship, is in the final edit. Rather than just watch to find out, though, she’d rather stay in the dark a little longer. She explained:
“There’s so much that’s cut out so maybe it’s not even in there. But in my head, I’m, like, scared to watch that again.”
As viewers know, the show follows the couple as they prepare to welcome their first child together, but it also chronicles their rocky history — including Taylor’s February 2023 domestic violence arrest and allegations Dakota lied about his past with other women. As far as we can tell, it doesn’t seem like this specific therapy session made it into the series. That said, the couple does get into several confrontations throughout the season. So if she’s worried about having to relive all the drama, the anxiety is valid! Because the show brings the drama!
Despite dealing with tons of challenges, Taylor and Dakota are still an item and navigating life with a little one. The outlet noted Dakota traveled to NYC this week to accompany his girlfriend during her press trip. Hey, maybe they can visit Jennifer Affleck while they’re there…
Taylor also shares daughter Indy, 7, and son Ocean, 4, with her ex-husband Tate Paul, which is another reason she hasn’t watched the series yet. The influencer added:
“I split my kids [with Tate]… obviously 50/50 and [when] we got back into town [from a press trip in Los Angeles], I had my little time with them and then we left yesterday [for New York City]. … So I just chose to spend it with them and not watch it. I really want to be focused in, though, and not have … being a mom [to distract me] … I want to watch it and listen.”
That’s fair! Though we’d think she’d want to get it over with. All this time anticipating the worst is probably making her more freaked out than she needs to be! After all, she knows what really happened. But with their track record, we suppose it’s reasonable to be worried about triggers. Hopefully, when she does finally watch the series, it doesn’t stir things up again!
