Once again, Taylor Swift has the record with the record!
1989 is now officially the fastest-selling album in over 10 years!
The album that gave us Shake It Off, Blank Space, and our fave Style has sold more that 5 million units in just 36 weeks!

That’s the quickest since Usher went quintuple platinum in 19 weeks with 2004’s Confessions.
All the more impressive considering people are buying full albums less and less. 1989 is actually the first record since Adele‘s 21 to even reach 5 million (though it took Adele 42 weeks).
And to think, Taylor’s record label actually didn’t want her to release it!
