Teddi Mellencamp is terrified of how her divorce will spin out — due to those shocking cheating rumors!
After The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum filed for divorce from Edwin Arroyave on November 1, an alleged months-long affair with her married horse trainer was exposed! The scandal is apparently all the talk of the horseriding community already. The Bravo fandom is only just now catching wind.
Here is the deal: According to a report on Wednesday, Teddi and trainer Simon Schröeder have been hooking up for months. But they went too far, so to speak, when they traveled to Florida together… while his wife, Karli Postel, was giving birth to their second kid in California. Ouch! A source said she became “suspicious” when learning her hubby was in the Sunshine State when she was in labor. You’d expect your husband to try to rush back home for the birth of his child! So our alarm bells would be firing off, too! When Simon returned to California, Karli did some digging — and discovered the betrayal. She found texts between her hubby and Teddi “that exposed the affair,” leading her to confront the two. Per the insider, they “confessed” and vowed it would never happen again.

However, Teddi and Simon did not stop. And last month, Karli discovered the affair continued and grew “emotional.” We actually have heard it was a huge “brawl” at a horse event or something. Where are reality TV cameras when you need them, right? Karli subsequently outed Teddi, telling Edwin everything. After realizing she was caught, the Bravolebrity quickly filed for divorce:
“She filed for divorce from Edwin so that he did not have the chance to file and get her for adultery.”
Well, it seems Edwin is trying to get her back in other ways — even though there’s speculation he cheated, too! And possibly first!
First off, he demanded the court enforce their prenup in his response, including their spousal support terms. In her filing, Teddi requested spousal support for herself — and for the court to terminate his ability to get anything from her. Something tells us he’s looking for the opposite. The former couple is also going head-to-head over child custody. Edwin wants joint legal and physical custody of their three children — Slate, Dove, and Cruz — while Teddi wants primary custody. And the Skyline Security Management founder is reportedly willing to do whatever it takes in the divorce, making his estranged wife “afraid” he’ll get his way.
On Wednesday, a source told The US Sun that Edwin is “determined to come out on top for this divorce.” Not only that, he is “determined to take her down” following her affair:
“He wants to look good and wants to maintain custody of the kids so he’s willing to do whatever to make that happen.”
Whoa. According to the insider, Teddi is “scared it’s gotten to this point and has grown more and more afraid of what he’s willing to do.” Is she nervous he’ll come out and confirm the affair rumors? Or expose something else about her? Hmm. The source continued:
“Her support from her girlfriends, specifically Kyle Richards, has been helping her navigate this mess. If it wasn’t for the support from her friends and her love for her kids, not sure what Teddi would do.”
For now, Teddi is focusing on their kids’ “well-being” since their breakup is so public now in light of the affair bombshell:
“She hates [the kids] are being dragged through this and she hates even more so how public it’s become so shielding her kids from all of this negativity is her top priority. Because of this, she is really disappointed Edwin can’t have the same grace towards her.”
Yikes. As we’ve previously said, it sounds like this divorce will get messy! Even more so now that Eddi is allegedly on a warpath! Or is he?
A source slammed the report to Page Six on Thursday, saying that “there is zero truth to the report that Edwin is trying to take down Teddi.” They added:
“He’s always wanted to keep this matter amicable for the whole family.”
