Bong-hitter Michael Phelps has been dropped by a major sponsor in light of his pot-smoking controversy!
Cereal maker Kellogs says they are not renewing the swimmer’s contract when it expires at the end of this month.
In a statement on Thursday night, they say:
“We originally built the relationship with Michael, as well as the other Olympic athletes, to support our association with the U.S. Olympic team. Michael’s most recent behavior is not consistent with the image of Kellogg. His contract expires at the end of February and we have made a decision not to extend his contract.”
Thankfully for him, Phelps has a bunch of other advertisers – paying him tens of millions of dollars – who are all standing by him.
Will they for much longer?
