It’s always nice to see celebs trying to help others.
And Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is taking that to a national level.
The wrestler turned actor has just been named as the new ambassador for the Diabetes Awareness Campaign.
According to Johnson’s new public service announcement, he urges everyone to “Get outside. Play a game. Do something active together.” Adding, “We can make a difference in our own families through exercise, eating right and teaching healthy behaviors to our children.”
The campaign is aiming to reach out to the 24 million Americans living with diabetes, and hopefully help the estimated over 6 million who haven’t been diagnosed yet.
Johnson adds, “I’m honored to serve as an ambassador to the Diabetes Aware campaign, and I want to encourage families to be active and eat right. Small steps can go a long way in managing diabetes, its complications, and raising healthy, active children.”
Let’s hope the campaign helps to bring awareness.
Nick Jonas would approve!
