The X-Files Reboot Hunted Down Better Ratings Than When The Show First Went Off The Air!

Scully and Mulder are on the case… and so is the rest of America!
If you’re one of the millions of people who tuned in to watch the Panthers and Broncos crush the Cardinals and Patriots on Sunday, then you probably also noticed that FOX was heavily promoting the return of The X-Files shortly after the games.
The classic Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny sci-fi series went off the air way back in 2002 when network television ratings were at an all-time high… which is why we’re super shocked by how many people actually tuned in for the mini-series’ premiere!

Believe it or not, the reboot’s debut managed to pull in 16.19 million viewers — that’s a higher rating than what the final two seasons of the original series were able to achieve!
But while the numbers are impressive, it’s important to note that the NFL lead-in of 45.74 million probably helped with the huge viewership, so it should be interesting to see if Monday’s regular time slot has similar success.
Did U enjoy The X-Files’ first return to TV in 14 years??
