Not good AT ALL.
We’ve just learned that three American college students who attend Cairo’s American University were arrested yesterday for their alleged involvement with riots in Tahrir Square.
Here’s what Prosecutor’s spokesman Adel Saeed had to say about it:
“The three boys were throwing Molotov cocktails and had no passports on them when they were picked up. They have been questioned by the police and will be further investigated today.”
More from U.S. Embassy deputy press officer David Lynfield:
“[The] claims are being currently investigated.”
President of American University Lisa Anderson has said that both the school AND US Embassy are currently working on getting the college students released.
Let’s just hope they’re able to work everything out! We certainly want these college students to be safe…but throwing Molotov cocktails?!?!?!?
If that’s true, then they obviously have got some SERIOUS explaining to do…
