UPDATE 2:28 P.M. EST: Tom Arnold has now filed a police report.
He was seen at the West El Lay division of the LAPD where he told reporters Mark Burnett “literally tried to murder me” and that he was going to the doctor about possible vocal chord damage.
The Blast reports he only waited to file the report long enough for his legal team to get statements from various eyewitnesses to strengthen his case.
Apparently one producer was quoted as saying:
“Tom walked up the stairs and three seconds later Burnett saw him and the next thing I know Burnett attacked him and started choking and Tom did not start.”
Dang! That’s some backup!

This is going to get all the Donald Trump haters (and fans) going!!!
Tom Arnold alleged late Sunday night that he was attacked by reality TV producer Mark Burnett (pictured above, left) at a pre-Emmys party, taking the fight to Twitter in what ended up being a war of words with Burnett’s wife Roma Downey.

It all started overnight on Sunday when Arnold tweeted the following (below) about the reality TV head honcho who’s helmed shows like The Apprentice and Survivor:
Mark Burnett just went apeshit & choked me at this huge Emmy party then he ran away with his torn Pink shirt & missing gold chain. I’m waiting for LAPD

Whoa!!!
An hour later, Burnett’s wife stepped into the fray with her own accusation (below), showing an alleged bruise on her hand and lashing out at Arnold about his upcoming TV show (more on that in a minute):
Got this bruise tonight when Tom Arnold tried to ambush my husband Mark and me at a charity event. Is your TV show worth it Tom?Please stop pic.twitter.com/lXvuKjIMI2
— Roma Downey (@RealRomaDowney) September 17, 2018
But Tom didn’t exactly take too kindly to that, opting to (probably accidentally) go for a very Trump-ian tactic in response: the threatened lawsuit (below)!!!
Bullshit. You lie your crazy husband attacked me you psycho. I’m filing police report & suing you for defamation. https://t.co/9yXAEXM6na

Fake news?! Real bruise?!
Who knows…
Later, Patton Oswalt jumped into the fray and confirmed Arnold was OK, seemingly putting an end to this confrontation… at least for now (below):
I’m with @TomArnold, everyone. He’s okay. We gotta protect this brutal angel. pic.twitter.com/9grT4QTVZK

Later, Arnold started sharing who might be “reliable” witnesses for what he alleges happened during the scuffle itself (below):
FYI: Kevin Bacon is a solid reliable brawl witness. Sosie Bacon is a wingman.

Roma knocked Bryan Fogel’s phone out of his hand after Mark Burnett chocked me. Bryan came with me. He won the Oscar this year for his amazing documentary Icarus. He has tape. https://t.co/nPJyDAarsE

Mark Burnett doesn't seem too thrilled about my new tv show. #TheHuntForTheTrumpTapes Starts Tuesday 10:30p @VICELAND & we do a Mark Burnett/Apprentice episode the first night. Yes Roma, saving my country is worth it. Brutal bruise. Should've gone to a dr last wk when you hurt it

Wow…
OK… so here’s the deal… this fight/incident/alleged attack/whatever the hell is going on didn’t come out of nowhere.
Burnett was the head man on The Apprentice for its entire NBC run with Trump, and the reality TV exec reportedly likes The Donald quite a bit. Burnett is also reportedly sitting on secret tapes from the set of the show where Trump regularly uses epithets like the n-word — which, if revealed publicly, would be very bad for the president.
Now, Tom — like many, including Omarosa Manigault-Newman — asserts those tapes exist and should be released, and he’s soon debuting a show on Viceland that is all about his search for those tapes to unearth to the public.

So it makes sense that Arnold and Burnett don’t exactly, um, see eye to eye on some things.
As for this fight itself? No apparent calls to the LAPD (yet), and both men were eventually allowed entrance into the pre-Emmys party they were at once everything calmed down, so it doesn’t appear there was any more violence last night.
But moving forward… tempers are high!
Wonder if Trump will tweet about this! Ha!!
