Really, dude? There’s something wrong with that mentality!
This Christmas, the world will watch Tom Cruise soar around the world’s tallest building in the lastest Mission: Impossible flick, but come next summer, the world will see Tom in a whole new light. In June, Adam Shankman’s adaptation of the Tony-winning 2006 musical Rock of Ages will hit theaters, with Tom as the lead, Stacee Jaxx.
There’s a lot of physicality with the role, lots of dance numbers and running around. But while Tom was inspired by his dancing wifey Katie Holmes to take the part, once he had it, he was scared out of his mind! He shares:

“I was working on it when I was finishing ‘Mission’ and I was singing five hours a day and I was dancing five hours a day. Adam said, ‘Look, we’re going to have a lot of fun,’ and we really did…. I did six months preparing for the movie, and all my stunt training and all of those years doing that, it helped me with the choreography.”

Action star to music man? He isn’t the first to make the transition.
But we’ve seen his moves as Les Grossman, so we don’t have any doubts about his dancing. It’s his singing that we’re looking forward to most. We can’t wait to hear the sound that is going to come of Tom … and how much autotune is going to help him along.
