As we mentioned yesterday, OK! magazine is reporting that Tom Cruise‘s sister, Lee Anne De Vette, has stepped in to help out in Tom’s life, both private and public, and become his publicist again.
As you may recall, dearest sis was the “mastermind” in control when Cruise had his infamous couch-jumping episode on The Oprah Winfrey show.
Now, PerezHilton.com is learning that those reports are NOT true.

We have received an official statement from Tom’s real PR Firm. It states:
In regards to your story posted today that reported Tom Cruise’s sister, Lee Anne De Vette, is his publicist is false.
We at Rogers & Cowan represent Tom Cruise worldwide in the area of publicity and public relations. Lee Anne De Vette, who is his sister, is not involved in this area for her brother at all.
As it was announced three years ago, she remains as his assistant working in areas of his production company that do not include publicity or public relations.
And there you have it.
Let’s hope his sister stays away from his PR side for good.
As for OK! mag, reps have confirmed to us that “The story in the OK! print edition does not say that his sister is his new publicist.”
Adding, “That was a misinterpretation that unfortunately landed on the OK! website temporarily but was corrected yesterday.├é┬á The mag regrets the error and was able to correct it as soon as it was recognized.”
