Other than having highly criticized makeup choices, the Kill Bill actress is notorious known for never smiling on the red carpet.

In a recent interview for Hello! magazine, the 44-year-old finally reveals why she never shows off her pearly whites.
And it’s because of a rude comment someone once told her when she was really young!
The Oscar nominee confesses:

“I’m enjoying getting older because I feel I didn’t appreciate being pretty when I was younger├óΓé¼┬ª I felt terrible. When I was 10, someone told me I had an ugly smile, so I spent the whole of my younger years feeling embarrassed and never smiling with my mouth open. But what are you going to do?”

What?! That’s ridiculous!
However, The Slap star has learned throughout the years to not take such criticism personally.
She said:

“I’ve been doing this [acting] for years and years and years, and people say things nice and they say things mean, and it’s just like, whatever├óΓé¼┬ª You take the good with the bad.”

We think Uma has a beautiful smile and we would love for her to show it off!
