Wendy Williams Acknowledges On Air That It's Been A 'Long Week' After Reported Hospitalization

Wendy Williams has been going through a lot lately — and to her credit, she’s not shying away from it anymore. Well, not like before…
The 54-year-old talk show host grabbed headlines on multiple days earlier this week after she was apparently hospitalized to sober up after being found drunk amid breaking new reports of the birth of her husband’s love child.
And while that hospitalization would mark a major hiccup in what had been her secret plan to get healthy and clean thanks to a sober house in NYC, it also made for major tabloid and news headline fodder — something Williams isn’t afraid to acknowledge.

The Wendy Williams Show host laid it out there in the most perfectly Wendy way on Friday’s episode, sitting down at the very beginning of her ‘Hot Topics’ segment, dropping a throat lozenge into her coffee cup, and simply looking at the audience and saying (below):

“Long week.”

Girl, um, YEAH, it was a long week! Understatement of the year!
Now, noticeably, the host WAS wearing her wedding on Friday’s taping, too!
That’s a big deal, because with all the accusations and allegations about her husband Kevin‘s alleged love child flying around, she had been spotted without the ring very recently. And we know she isn’t afraid to comment about wearing the sparkler, so if it’s on her finger… it must mean something!

Even if things aren’t truly back to normal, at least on the set on Friday, things sort of felt that way?!
Wendy also mentioned to the audience that she’s taking a (pre-scheduled) break next week, so she may well lay low enough to keep out of the news for another seven days, at least.
This comes after Williams’ absence from her popular daytime talk show between the start of the year and her March 4 return, which she initially attributed to a fractured shoulder and her ongoing battle with Graves’ disease, an autoimmune disorder.

There were some hiccups very quickly after that triumphant return to air at the beginning of this month, though, as Wendy allegedly still continues to struggle with substance abuse issues — not to mention all the incessant love child rumors that have never stopped flying around her longtime husband.
Bottom line: things are complicated. Even when Williams has a few normal days on air, like she did through the end of this week, the rumblings and rumors behind the scenes are too loud to ignore!
