Wendy Williams Confesses She's Being Treated For Addiction & Staying At Sober Living Home -- Details HERE

Wendy Williams is reportedly living in a sober living home in Queens, NYC

TV host Wendy Williams admitted during the taping of her show on Tuesday, March 19 that she has been living in a sober home in the Queens borough of NYC while being treated for addiction.
The 54-year-old broke down during the taping, admitting to cameras and her audience that she has a sober coach. And though she personally did NOT reveal what type of addiction she was struggling with in her admission, DailyMailTV reports she’s fighting both an alcohol and pill-fueled battle that allegedly “began when she fractured her shoulder during a confrontation with cheating husband Kevin Hunter.”

Wendy opened up about it at length during a particularly emotional segment near the end of her show’s taping, telling the audience she’s been going to sober meetings across the NYC metro area for further help (below):

“For some time now, and even today and beyond, I have been living in a sober house. When you see me come to work glammed up, right after the show I go across the street, I do my pilates. I told you two hours a day I like to take care of my body. And, you know I’ve had a struggle with cocaine in my past. I never went to a place to get the treatment. I don’t know how. God was sitting on my shoulder and I just stopped…  There are people in your family that might be struggling, maybe you, and I just want you to know more of the story, so this is my autobiographical story and I’m living it. After I go to pilates, I go to several meetings all around town in the tristate area, and I see my brothers and sisters caught up in their addiction, and looking for help. They don’t care I’m Wendy, there’s no autographs — there’s nothing. It’s the brother and the sisters, caught up in the struggle. It’s been really interesting. Only Kevin and Kevin have known about this. Not my parents, nobody, nobody knew, because I look so glamorous out here.”

Wow…

Video of that moment can be seen (below):

The host apparently opted to come clean about the sober house situation after Daily Mail contacted her earlier today to confirm their report; at that point, she “broke down in tears” during the taping and opened up to her fans about her personal struggles.

The outlet was first tipped off about her current situation when they apparently spotted Williams being picked up from the facility in Queens and taken to her studio in Manhattan. Hours later, after taping, Hunter allegedly drove her back to the facility to drop her off.

One local observer in Queens revealed more info about the sober living residence that Williams now calls home (below):

“There are some shady characters coming and going from that place, it’s on a residential street above a barbershop. You see recovering drug addicts standing outside having a smoke, it looks like four or five people are staying there at any one time. It’s certainly the last place you’d expect to see Wendy Williams.”

Hunter may be at the center of this addiction battle in multiple ways, with that report stating the alcohol and pill problems really began after an alleged physical confrontation with him. According to the report, that was when she allegedly fractured her shoulder, leading to prescription meds being used for her physical recovery and, unfortunately, addiction issues from there.

For the time being, it appears Wendy will remain in the facility as her recovery continues; judging by her own words (above), though, there may yet be a light at the end of the tunnel. We can only hope for the best!

We’ll continue to update this post as more information becomes available.
