As the inevitable hocking of Whitney Houston‘s estate draws near, the singer had several pieces of memorabilia from classic films.
In particular, a pair of Ginger Rogers shoes that are worth TONS.
Like her godmother Aretha Franklin, Whitney collected classic items and the shoes were a gift from David Gest.
Gest asked Whitney to perform at the Annual American Cinema Awards in 1993 and she received a five minute standing ovation.
The media mogul wanted to give her some Nicholas Brothers memorabilia but Whitney had her eye on something else.
So, Gest got up the nerve and asked Ginger herself and the actress and dancer grabbed a pair of her shoes and autographed each one!
She wrote “to one of the greatest singers of all time, from your friend Ginger Rogers.”
Whitney kept the shoes in Plexiglass from that point on and the shoes could be worth thousands!
Let’s hope Bobbi Kristina decides to keep that keepsake!
