Big names and close friends like Whitney Houston certainly have fond memories of the late, great Michael Jackson.
In the second portion of her interview with Oprah yesterday, Whitney talked about her love for MJ and how she was devastated when she learned of his passing.
She revealed, “I have so many good memories of spending time with him. I’ve known his family for so many years that I thought, ‘It can’t be true.'”
Whitney had performed at his 30th-anniversary special in 2001 and at that moment in time, she recalls it was like seeing a reflection of her own life.
Adding, “I just remember doing the anniversary special and I remember looking at Michael and I remember looking at myself and I was getting scared looking at him. I was looking at myself. I don’t want it to be like this. Mike and I were very close.”
Whitney also admits that she knew Michael was on painkillers and that the anniversary performance was the last time she ever saw him.
She explains that they kept in touch over the phone, during the trial and such, but the he didn’t want to see her, probably due to his condition.
Sad.
