Justin Timberlake is putting family first amid his DWI drama.
On Wednesday, TMZ reported that the *NSYNC alum had agreed to a plea deal that will see his driving while intoxicated charge from earlier this summer dropped. In turn, that’ll prevent him from serving any prison time, and it’ll require him to just pay a $300 to $500 fine… and that’s it.
However, he WILL plead guilty to a much lesser charge: driving while ability impaired. That is not a criminal offense… despite all the evidence that made it appear as though he WAS under the influence! But why did he agree to plead guilty to ANY charge after his lawyer Edward Burke Jr. said that he wasn’t guilty?? Well, it sounds like his wife had a lot to do with it!
On Thursday, an insider told People that Jessica Biel “encouraged him to take the plea deal.” The source dished:
“Jess has not been happy about it. She’s encouraged him to accept the plea deal.”
Uhhh, yeah! We bet she’s unhappy about it! He’s already put her through a lot in the last few years, so this must have been the cherry on top!

The source also revealed that Justin accepted the plea deal for the sake of his entire family, which includes sons Silas, 9, and Phineas, 4:
“He’s a family man, and this is his focus. He accepted a plea deal because he wants to move on. The court case has been a distraction. He doesn’t want his family to be affected by it.”
Maybe he should have thought about that before he got behind the wheel at all. Just saying!!
But while he may be getting off easy, he’s still banned from driving in New York for a year:
“It’s not like he’s getting off completely — his license is still suspended.”
He should consider himself very lucky that this is the only punishment he’s facing. AND that he didn’t hurt himself or anyone else. Seriously.
