Even though she wanted to come to America for the Grammy Awards this weekend – she’s nominated in six categories – Amy Winehouse will be forced to stay in rehab after being turned down by the U.S. Embassy in London.

And that’s a good thing!

Wino’s health is the priority right now, not collection awards.

The singer’s publicist has released the following statement after the visa rejection:

“Amy Winehouse will not be performing at this year├óΓé¼Γäós Grammy Awards ceremony.

The singer has been invited to appear at the event on Sunday (February 10) after receiving an amazing 6 nominations for the prestigious awards.

Unfortunately, her application for a visa to enter the United States of America has been rejected at this time by the American Embassy in London.

Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and although disappointed with the decision has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery.

Amy has been treated well and fairly by the Embassy staff and thanks everyone for their support in trying to make this happen.

There will of course be other opportunities and she very much looks forward to visiting America in the near future.”

Get well, Amy!
