All we can say is….wow.
A 28-year-old woman has posted a video on YouTube that is extremely hard to watch, but hopefully her bravery will lead to justice.
In the video the woman who calls herself Jamie X calls a Alhambra school administrator to confront her about the alleged sexual assault that Jamie X says started when she was 12-years-old while she was a student at Chemawa Middle School in Riverside, California, and continued for a number of years.
In the video’s description it said:
├óΓé¼┼ôI am 28 years old and have been waiting years to get up enough courage to report a teacher for sexually abusing me for years. When I finally got up enough courage to report her, I found out that the statute of limitations was up and she will never have to pay for the things that she did to me. I wanted to let the public know what kind of person is around their children…works with your children at Alhambra High School in Alhambra, CA.├óΓé¼┬¥
In the video, Jamie X calls up the administrator and stays strong while she asks the school administrator a series of questions.
Part of the conversation went as follows:
“Jamie X – ‘Do you realize that you brainwashed me and you manipulated me and that what you did was wrong?’
School Administrator – ‘Yes and I regret it.’
Jamie X – ‘You├óΓé¼Γäóre an assistant principal, huh?’
School Administrator – ‘Yes.’
Jamie X – ‘So what happens when a student comes in and says they├óΓé¼Γäóre having a sexual relationship with a teacher?’
School Administrator – ‘Then I would involve law enforcement.’
Jamie X – ‘So how is that any different from what you did when I was at Chemawa Middle?’
School Administrator – ‘It├óΓé¼Γäós not.'”
The conversation lasts a few more minutes, and the accused woman never apologizes once – she just keeps repeating that she regrets what she did.
After receiving the video he school district has responded to the situation, and wrote in a statement that the accused woman no longer works at the school. Here was their official statement:
“Alhambra high school administration received an electronic message with a YouTube link incriminating an Alhambra high school administrator. Alhambra high school administration contacted the Alhambra Police Department immediately upon discovering the link. She is no longer an employee of Alhambra High School or the Alhambra Unified School District.”
Right now the video has 70,000 views, but has gained more views each hour.
Those numbers have made Jamie X very glad that she made the video. She wrote in the comments section of her video:
“I don’t even know where to begin. I am so grateful to all of you for making this video go viral. Because of all of you who shared she will not be getting away with these things that she has done to me or anyone else.”
It took SO much courage for this young lady to not only reveal the traumas inflicted on her as a child, but to also confront the woman who took her childhood away from her and so much more.
Hopefully the justice system can do something about this despite the passing of the statue of limitations.
Rules were meant to be broken for situations exactly like this.
