Zac Efron has his sights set on a Land Down Under!
The 32-year-old longtime film and TV actor is apparently burned out over the Los Angeles lifestyle, according to insiders in the know, and he’s looking to make a major move… to Australia!

According to “sources with direct knowledge” of the situation who spoke about it to TMZ, the High School Musical star is sick and tired of the limelight in El Lay, and of being followed around town by paparazzi and the like. To that end, he apparently wants to get away from being the center of attention and live somewhere a little more low-key — though he’s definitely not leaving the entertainment business!
As the report goes, the coronavirus pandemic has proven to Efron that he simply doesn’t need to be in Hollywood to take meetings with film producers and studio execs. Zoom and other teleconferencing tools have apparently worked just fine for him the past few months, making the actor realize… why does he need to be in El Lay at all?
Heck, even his last few movies were filmed out on location: The Beach Bum was shot in Miami, The Greatest Showman went down in NYC, and Baywatch mostly shot in south Florida and Georgia. Why live in congested, pollution-filled, hectic Los Angeles if you don’t even have to work there?! Seems like a no-brainer to us!
As it goes, then, Zac reportedly plans on listing his Hollywood home in “the very near future,” with the intention of moving full time to the Byron Bay area of Australia. Not a bad place to be!
Heck, the 17 Again actor even mentioned his desire to leave Tinseltown in his new Netflix show, Down To Earth With Zac Efron, so it’d appear he’s already making good on his wish there and making things happen!

BTW, the coronavirus pandemic is apparently playing a role in this, too. According to TMZ, Zac considers Byron Bay “safer from the virus” and doesn’t expect the COVID-19 danger to go away any time soon in the United States. Read between the lines on that one, Donald Trump…
Seriously, though, Perezcious readers, what do U make of a major Hollywood star like Efron just up and leaving town to move on to a more low-key, quiet lifestyle?? Is this a big deal, and perhaps the makings of a mass exodus away from El Lay?! Or just one star doing what he feels is right for him??
