Zayn Malik Admits He Didn't Actually Write His 'Normal 22-Year-Old' One Direction Resignation Speech!

Just how many directions are there?!
Zayn Malik first found international superstardom when he joined One Direction in 2010 — but he officially made the A-List in his own right when he left the band in March of 2015.
As you may recall, the Mind of Mine singer initially announced that he was quitting in an effort to be a “normal 22-year-old,” except his solo career and debut album kind of had us questioning that.

Well, it turns out we were right to be suspicious of the now-24-year-old’s exit… because he basically just admitted that he didn’t even write his own resignation letter!
Gigi Hadid‘s boyfriend stopped by Evening Standard‘s ES Magazine on Thursday where he HEAVILY implied his words were actually written by a suit, saying:

“I’m going to ask you a question now: Do you think I wrote that? Like, look how it’s worded. I’m not a 35-year-old lawyer. I don’t write like that.”

Inneresting…
So, how was his original letter worded??

“I’d like to apologize to the fans if I’ve let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight. I know I have four friends for life in Louis [Tomlinson], Liam [Payne], Harry [Styles], and Niall [Horan]. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world.”

Now that he mentions it… that doesn’t sound anything like Pillowtalk.

Plus, the announcement wasn’t even technically correct — Zayn and Niall are most definitely NOT best friends at the moment!
Do U think it was really Zayn’s idea to leave 1D??
