Good casting choice — and she’s married to a musician herself!
Zooey Deschanel will be starring in HBO’s new pilot based on the book I’m With The Band: Confessions Of A Groupie.
The book was written by Pamela Des Barres, the woman who influenced the character of Kate Hudson‘s Penny Lane in Almost Famous.
The half-hour show will basically follow the book about a groupie’s life sleeping with famous people which in Pamela’s case included Mick Jagger, Jimmy Page and Don Johnson among MANY others.
Sounds a bit tired and sleazy to us, but we think Zooey’s quirky brand of cuteness will balance it out and maybe give HBO another hit!
