The Disney Channel's new Jonas Brothers movie, Camp Rock, debuted huge Friday night.
The TV flick averaged 8.9 million total viewers at 8-10 p.m. Friday, making it the cable network's second-most-watched original movie ever - behind High School Musical 2 (17.2 million) - according to the ratings peeps at Nielsen.
However, Camp Rock did outperform the original High School Musical, which debuted in January 2006 to 7.7 million viewers.
Not a shabby performance for the talented trio!
So when will we see Camp Rock 2????

What a fucking FLOP. Disney promoted this more than HSM 2 (lets not even get into HSM which wasn't promoted when it just came out) and it ends up with less than half the viewers. LMFAO. Not to mention it's the only movie I have ever seen to get not one good review.
aw, too bad i didn't watch it. i was too busy doing things that actually matter, like making out with my sexy boyfriend. camp rock looks like some lame shizz. wouldn't waste my time!

I thought that Joe was really sweet (although I wish the 'bad boy' charcter was played up a bit more) but I think it was Kevin and Nick that stole the show (so funny) !

I love the Jonas Brothers but I thought this movie sucked. The acting was actually not that bad considering its a Disney Channel Original Movie starring musicians… I was pleasantly surprised by Joe, Nick, and Kevin's performances. I also thought that Demi Lovato did a nice job, I think that she's a very talented singer. And she's much better than Miley Cyrus at singing AND acting. However, the movie just was not good. The dialogue and plot were pathetic, the 'mean-girl' was WAY too over-exaggerated, and the editing was for crap. The movie really had the material to be a cute, if predictable and corny, musical. But the direction absolutely sucked.

Um so i watched this so called"awesome" movie and it was retarded i really enjoyed high school musical, and it was easy to see they were lipsinging it was just a bad movie altogether
It was nowhere near as good as HSM. And no, the only one that is underage is the youngest. The other two are 20 and 18.
and really, there were a ton of people who saw it early - OnDemand and it got leaked on youtube 3 or 4 days early.

Honestly, I dont really like the Jonas Brothers so i watched the movie to get a good laugh… but I enjoyed it. I think the story was cute, and the music was good. The actors could have been better, and I think the movie revolved around Joe too much, but overall i found it interesting.
i have to say i like the movie it was better thasn hsm 2. In hsm 2 the acting and dancing sucked and you could tell when someone was lip synching

Eww. I barely know who the J Bros are, but that movie was on late night on Disney 2… I watched it. AND IT SUCKED!!!! Like, seriously sucked ALOT. None of the kids on there could act- they just repeated their lines and added facial expressions- no chemistry. The story was nearly non-existent, and it was very obvious what was going to happen each time they TRIED to throw a plot twist to the audience. The characters had no depth at ALL. I really couldn't believe how stupid this movie was. Ugh. An insult to young Americans' intelligence.

I found the movie downright insulting. It had horrible actors, like Demi Lovato, who probably came to Disney with a big smile and an expectation to be made a star.

Yah right…HSM had a huge countdown and many promos for the show. It was ridiculous…they were Even selling the stuff in the stores…Camp Rock was terrible…I never saw mygirls get up so much during a show to find other activities TO ENTERTAIN THEMSELVES…no other premiere movie on disney sucked this bad…thsi was def a miss. My 5 year old thought it was boring…SADD SO SADDDDD!

the movie was HORRIBLE. The only reason I watched it was because I thought it would be the next High School Musical..but it didn't even compare. High School Musical was not promoted when it first aired which explained its ratings. The only reason why Camp Rock did well was because everyone was expecting another High School Musical. Definitely a dissapointment
