Kate Hudson reportedly dumped Owen Wilson earlier this summer, a move that was said to leave the actor devastated. Therefore, it is understandable that his family is trying to keep the blond away from him.
A source close to Hudson says that her attempts to send regards have been rebuffed by Wilson's camp.
"Kate has been trying to get in touch with Owen and is distraught that the family doesn't want her anywhere near him," says a pal. "She is very frustrated. [Owen's family members] don't think Kate is good for him."
Well, the fact that Hudson already has a new boyfriend - Dax Shepard - doesn't make things any better.
Hopefully Owen's family knows best!

I don't think Kate is to blame for Owens suicide attempt, HOWEVER, we are talking about a mentally unstable person and I'm sure his parents & family are just trying to do whatever they can to get him out of this downward spiral. If his family feels that it is too soon for contact with ANYONE then their wishes should be honored. Owens family are the ones that are caring for him & they are the ones who are in contact with the doctors who are treating him. If they are denying Kate contact with Owen then I'm sure they know better what is best for him than she does.
It seems that Kate kind has a "love 'em & leave 'em" reputation of late. She left her husband for Owen ( or so it seems) and now she's moved on from Owen to Dax. It's well within her right to do so but it should be a clean break.
