Oh no!!!
Bono and his wife, Ali Hewson, were on vacation when things went from relaxing to awful suuuuper fast!
They were quad biking when Ali had an accident — something that happens all too often on those things. She flew off the bike and broke some ribs, and was immediately taken to the hospital by helicopter.

Bono is known for ALWAYS wearing sunglasses, almost more than he is for being U2's lead singer! LOLz!
It turns out that the sunglasses aren't just a fashion statement.
His good friend Julian Lennon said that Bono wears the glasses because his eyes are

We couldn't think of a better recipient ourselves!
Legendary boxer Muhammad Ali is joining Bono, Nelson Mandela and President Jimmy Carter as a winner of Philadelphia's Liberty Medal.

Looks like being pissed off at the world helped…
Sean Penn just raised $2 million for Haiti while at the Cannes Film Festival!
This comes right on the heels of Penn yelling at the world for abandoning Haiti after their 2010 earthquake, and it seems like Penn's and Paul Haggis' idea to fundraise at the even more than paid off.
The event was the first ever for the festival since 1996, and was the first time that three separate charities banded together to help one cause.
The last time the festival did anything like this came in the form of benefit screenings!
The main breadwinner for the charities was the auction. It included a three day trip to Haiti WITH Sean Penn (each of the three bidders who won promised over $128k each!), a Bono guitar, a lunch date with a Victoria's Secret Angel, and VIP access to their 2012 fashion show!
So fab! We're glad that Sean witness that while some people may have forgotten, not everyone in the world has!
Raising awareness again will certainly help people come back around!

Brad Pitt took the time to thank Bono the other day. No, it wasn't for the rockin' tunes, but a thanks for that is always implied! Ha!
Instead, Brad thanked Bono for his humanitarian advice! That advice made Brad into the man he is today, says the actor.
"I sat down with him a few times and got involved in some of the stuff he was doing."
He said that

Alicia Keys may have just found her number one fan!
Bono, the lead singer of U2, praised her for not only her musical endeavors, but her charitable impact on the global fight against AIDS.
At the world premiere of Keys' new Showtime documentary Keep A Child Alive with Alicia Keys, the rocker and well-known philanthropist praised her for finding her "lioness energy" to visit South Africa while pregnant to shine a light on the AIDS epidemic.
The R&B singer started the Keep a Child Alive charity in 2003 to assist those affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India. Bono believes her positive influence on the less-fortnuate world around her will only grow stronger since giving birth last year because she won't "let other mothers suffer."
Alicia hopes the film, which airs on the premium channel in conjunction with World AIDS Day on December 1st, will inspire people to start donating toward her organizations cause.
"Even if you never have been able to travel there, or if you never can," she says. "That doesn't mean you can't travel with us and really see it for yourself."

The idea is to draw attention to the growing famine in Somalia that has already killed more than 30,000 children in just 3 months.
George Clooney, Idris Elba, Jessica Alba, Ewan McGregor… pretty much everyone in Hollywood turned out for this. So check it out above!
And then, visit here to sign the petition and help out!
Love that you all took the time to record this message!
