Louis The Chimpanzee, Former Commercial Star, Dies

| Filed under: TV NewsR.I.P.Sad SadZooChimpanzee

Louis the chimpanzee was a former UK TV commercial star in the '70s and '80s, starring in ads for PG Tips, a brand of tea.

The ads, or adverts as the Brits say, were spy parodies.

Louis would play Brooke Bond, a parody of James Bond and it's so CUTE!

Sadly, Louis has passed away at the ripe age of 37 after a short illness.

Retired Lab Chimps See Sunlight For The First Time!!

We absolutely hate that any animal is tested on.

Living their lives stuck in cages, being poked and prodded for years and years is the cruelest torture.

That's why it's so so so amazing when those animals get freed!

It's even more ahmayzing when 111 chimps are freed at the same time!

Over the next 12 to 15 months, lab chimps are going to be set free and live out the rest of their lives at Chimp Haven, a gorgeous sanctuary in Keithville, Louisiana.

These chimps get to see the sky and feel grass for the first time!

They can socialize and groom one another with no bars between them too.

It's really beautiful!

Check out the video (above) to see the chimps staring at the sky in absolute awe!

Great!!! Now we have even MAWR hide n seek partners!!!

Researchers at Emory and Georgia State Universities have found that chimpanzees can play nice with each other, much like humans.

They studied a group by playing the ultimatum game, a test given to humans as well.

In the chimp version, one of them was given tokens, one which represented fairness (each chimp receiving the same amount of banana slices) and the other selfishness. The chimps were able to

Michael Jackson's Chimp Retired And Alone In Florida

While we'll never understand the urge to own a chimp, we always hate it when they are abandoned.

Michael Jackson's pet chimp, Bubbles, has been left high and dry by the Jackson family. The primate was left out of MJ's will and Bubbles is currently "in retirement" in Florida.

Prince, Paris and Blanket used to play with Bubbles all the time, but they have visited nor contributed any cash to Bubbles' $20,000 keep.

Sad…stuck in retirement with no one to talk to…
