Clint Eastwood has been a lifelong fan of golf and now we imagine he's realizing a lifelong dream of launching his own television network for the sport.
The iconic Hollywood star is serving as a founding shareholder and creative board chairman of the golf lifestyle network, Back9.
Chief executive James Bosworth, who has known and golfed with Eastwood since the 1990s, says the network will "bring a hell of a lot of fun to the game of golf."
Based on the programming that has been announced, it sounds like Bosworth is telling the truth. One show called Extreme Golf will feature celebs and athletes playing against each other on "the wildest golf holes imaginable," while Bachelor-style dating show Hole Lotta Love features a player finding Mr. or Mrs. Right during three holes of golf.
For once, golf doesn't sound that boring! Ha!
Eastwood is described as "a big picture sounding board" by Bosworth who says the J. Edgar director will meet with executives once per quarter to discuss programming and casting choices for the network.
