Teenage girls are apparently starving themselves to achieve what many underweight models have: a "thigh gap."

The "thigh gap" is the space between a very skinny woman's legs where they don't touch above the knees.

They specifically often try and emulate the bodies of stick thin models like

One of the best things about Demi Lovato, other than how kind and caring she is, is that she is ALWAYS open and honest about her struggles with eating disorders. She is never silent about how hard it is to control her own thoughts on her body image.

The world and young women are better because of this!

Here's what she said:

It wasn't too long ago that Katie Couric decided it was time to share her struggle with bulimia in an effort to help others.

The reveal shocked so many because it came out of nowhere!

She really first opened up about her problem when Demi Lovato was talking about her own battle with eating disorders as a guest on Katie's show last year.

Katie said:

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star caused quite the uproar when she revealed that Rimes pops laxatives constantly due to a "serious eating disorder," and one of her kids even got ILL after confusing one of her pills for a piece of candy and eating it!

But after a few days of back-and-forth spars and leaked e-mails, the reality television fixture said enough is enough, and clammed up!

LeAnn, however, didn't

It really showed off her consistently great figure!

When an actress is always really really skinny, the media cries "anorexia!"

But some people are just naturally incredibly skinny and lead an active lifestyle. Keira even sued a British tabloid for labeling her anorexic. She won!

In Allure, she talked about the claims of her "anorexia," saying:

The Victoria's Secret Angels are all getting into ridiculous shape for their big upcoming fashion show.

They've been working their butts off to get into inhuman shape and have been sharing some sexy snaps.

One of those pics came from Candice Swanepoel, who tweeted her crazy flat stomach.

So flat it's actually concave!

Nicole Scherzinger, former lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls, has opened up about her battle against anorexia, bulimia, self-harm and body image issues.

They were a big problem when she was with the girl group.
