The New Yorker has written one of the best articles on The Hills eva!

- "Most of the conversations start with one or another of the girls asking Lauren what she did the night before, and, constant as the questions are, they seem to be asked not out of curiosity but out of obligation, as if the girls were being paid to ask—as, indeed, they are."

- "As for Lauren, she is smart enough to get as much gold as she can out of “The Hills” before it’s too late, and has started a fashion line, for which she has received, naturally, an undue amount of press attention, even though the clothes are sub-Old Navy in design."

- "I have yet to hear any character on the show say something interesting or funny…or see anything that expands my sense of what it’s like to be a young person in Los Angeles."

- "But The Hills isn’t aiming to stimulate or inspire; I think people watch it mostly to figure out why they’re watching it. For younger viewers—who are the intended audience for the series—it may be a soothing fantasy about coming of age, and give them the sense that even after they leave their parents’ house they will still be the center of attention, the way these girls are.

It's not a secret to media insiders that Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are in bed with one particular photo agency.

The pair arrange with their pap friends to stage "exclusive" photo ops - the exclusivity makes the pics more valuable - and then the couple split the profits with the pag agency.

However, Speidi sank to a whole new low yesterday!

Pratt and Montag and their paparazzi photographer staged lots of photos in New York City on Wednesday. Lots and LOTS.

The gruesome twosome went to Central Park and brought along several changes of clothes so that they could stage lots of "exclusive" pics with their house photog and make it seem like they were there more than one day. Plus, different outfit changes increase the likelihood that different media outlets will buy different pics.

And, gross as it may be, we've bought one of them!

We'd buy more pics from the same day with Speidi wearing their different outfits, but we don't wanna be wastin' our money on them.

Spencer and Heidi are just as fake OFF camera as they are on The Hills.

At the end of the day, though, the real question remains: do U really care that they're fake????

Christian Siriano thinks The Hills girls have nothing on him! Them chickens is ash and he's lotion!

The Project Runway winner told Life & Style in Vegas this past weekend that despite the money the rich Hills girls threw at their fashion lines the results weren't "that great."

We tend to agree with Christian on this one!

And so do you, Perezcious readers!

The Project Runway winner went on to say, "I mean, it's fun and flirty and young, but they're not innovators. None of them will ever be an innovative designer. Buyers and editors are looking for longevity, and hopefully they will see that in me."

There's absolutely NO WAY Heidi or Lauren would have survived Project Runway.

Can't pay anyone to do things for you!

You do all the shit yourself on that show. For real. Like in real reality!

Though they're well into their 20s, they still all behave like they're in fucking high school.

And that's why we love them!

Right???

None other than Brody Jenner showed up to Heidi Montag's fashion show this past weekend, and he was intent on causing a scene.

The former friend and current foe of Spencer Pratt, Jenner was heard screaming and being obnoxious throughout the entire runway show.

And, when Pratt came out to Present Montag with a bouquet of flowers, Jenner screamed out loud, "Spencer, quit stuffing your pants," and other REALLY FUNNY jokes like that.

Heidi and Spencer seemed unfazed by Brody, though.

They weren't even filming any of this for The Hills.

What a waste of "faux" drama!

Brody needs more screen time, wethinks. That's why he's "acting out."

Lame!

The drama spills from the screen to real life!

Sources reveal exclusively to PerezHilton.com that The Hills stars Heidi Montag and Lauren Conrad have made peace.

At least for today!

What brought these two former friends together again??? Publicity!

The famewhores are currently putting their distances aside and giving each other nasty looks as they are both on a photo shoot.

"Lauren and Heidi (and the other girls) are doing the cover of Rolling Stone today [Tuesday]," a magazine insider tells us. "This is the first time in two years that L.C. and Heidi have been on a photo shoot together."

Should be inneresting!!!!

Last week, reality TV actress Heidi Montag announced publicly that she was supporting and would vote for Republican candidate John McCain.

In return, McCain stated that he never misses an episode of The Hills.

Awwww, how sweet!

It seems Heidi pulled something similar to Paris Hilton, who during her contribution to the Vote or Die campaign, “forgot” to go vote.

Well, it turns out Ms. Montag isn’t even registered to vote!

Just a little technicality. Heidi can still register before the election in November…..unless she "forgets"!

As we mentioned earlier today, Heidi Montage is supporting presidential hopeful John McCain.

Then, a few hours later, McCain was asked for his reaction to Heidi's support.

McCain tells Time, "I'm honored to have Heidi's support and I want to assure her that I never miss an episode of 'The Hills,' especially since the new season started."

Riiiiight.

At least he knows he needs to appeal to younger voters.

Somehow, Perez Hilton has a feeling that if we asked Heidi to talk about one of John McCain's platforms, she wouldn't be able to list one.

And if we asked McCain what's the name of Heidi's fiance, he wouldn't know the answer either.

Will Heidi be the new Elizabitch Hasselbeck?

The Hills star Heidi Montag is taking the bold move of coming out of the closet….as a Republican!

In the latest issue of US Weekly, Montag says "I'm voting for John McCain. I'm a Republican and McCain has a lot of experience."

When her beau, Spencer Pratt, warns her during the interview about making a political endorsement, Heidi continues, "I don't think anyone cares who Heidi Montag votes for."

Talking about yourself in the third person? Perez Hilton loves that!

How many times do we need to be reminded that this show is not real????

InTouch is reporting that The Hills' 'favorite' on-again/off-again couple, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt only fight when the cameras are rolling.

They are totally lovey dovey and drama free in 'real' life, claims the mag.

Really? It's fake fighting? It's all staged?!

NO WAY!

A 'fake' fight was reportedly staged for The Hills in Vegas this past weekend.

In the episode, Heidi and Spencer are in Sin City for Heidi's fake job with SBE Entertainment.

A source tells the mag, "She staged a business meeting at the Dos Caminos Las Vegas Mexican restaurant. It was all drama (Speidi were fighting and shizz)! After each take, they were cutesy again."

Their brains must be well trained. Don't they ever get confused with the constant back and forth between 'real' and 'reality'?

Update: A rep for Sencer & Heidi tells PerezHilton.com exclusively, "In Touch must have gotten their information from a bad source."
