Katherine Heigl has been blogging for iVillage's CelebVillage, and in her third post she talks about why she is out to save millions of pets from being killed every year.

She wrote:

"At first I thought I wanted this blog to speak to those capable of cruelty, neglect, and disregard but I realized I cannot speak to that. I do not and never will understand such a mind or such a soul, so I have nothing constructive to say to those people."

She went on to talk about how she felt that there were so many bad people and so little information for those who would like to help.

But then she came across some interesting statistics.

She wrote:

"The great news is that there are millions of people like me in the world. Over $50 billion was spent in American in 2011 on companion animals, and that's during a recession! Clearly there are many, many people in the world who feel as strongly about their pets as I do and it's to these people I speak now."

So even though millions of homeless animals are killed at shelters each year, there is something those of you animal lovers out there can do.

Heigl posted a list of ways to help:

"-- We can encourage our family, friends and neighbors to rescue a pet versus buying one.
-- We can promote and support spay/neuter programs and education in our towns and cities.
-- We can donate time, money (even a dollar matters!) or supplies to local shelters.
-- And, most importantly, when you curl up on the floor, sofa or bed with your most loyal friend, you can remember that the best way to honor the gift they are in our lives is to help their kind any way we can.

Every little bit matters, no kindness is too small. One saved life matters, one unnecessary death avoided matters."

So remember, you may just be one person, but together, we're an entire nation of animal lovers.

Awww, how thoughtful!

Katherine Heigl and hubby Josh Kelley like to take a Christmas sabbatical to the mountains of Utah.

Last year, the Utahans left a "civilized note" for the happy couple from their community leaders.

What did it say? Heigl and Kelley "failed" to take down their Christmas lights.

Katherine shrugged off the notice and said the following:

So does Isaiah Washington, but this one seems more likely to happen!

Katherine Heigl recently admitted that she wants to return to Grey's Anatomy and she has already asked to come back.

In Hollywood, even the happiest of relationships can end in heartache. Time and time again, we are fooled into thinking a couple will make it the long haul and then, someone gets the wandering eye and their happily ever after comes crashing down around them.

Why, we ask you! WHY!!!

Well, Katherine Heigl has devised a plan to ensure that her hubby Josh Kelley never steps out on her. The couple have instituted a zero-tolerance policy. If he cheats on her, she has plans to "kill him."

Okay, okay. Not literally. In fact, Kat even sounds like she has softened up on her policy these days, considering that they have a child together. She explained to Cosmo:

OMG! We can't wait to see New Year's Eve, if not for exactly what Katherine Heigl says in the trailer: "there's more celebs than rehab!"

In this clip, the cast members are trying to remember all of their castmates names, but LOL! THEY CAN'T!!!

Ha! Just seeing their expressions when they're put on the spot about it is genius. Poor Lea Michele!

Very mature move, Seth!

Waaay back in December '07, Katherine Heigl ran her mouth BIG TIME about the movie Knocked Up, despite the fact that she starred in it.

Here's what she had to say about the movie at the time:

No, Katherine Heigl doesn't hate sports. She hates testicles.

Really. She really, really hates balls.

She even refers to the them as "disgusting, dangly things."

And no being will ever be 100% cute in her book if they still have the "shriveled, ugly" 2% left hanging around.

So she's on a mission. To rid the world of all unnecessary balls.

Now anyone can take home celebrities like Katherine Heigl, Steven Tyler, Raven Symone and Kristin Chenoweth in a pint size bundle. The doll lookalikes are available for auction on ebay.

The earnings from the Cabbage Patch Kids to will go towards efforts to raise awareness on foster children and adoption. Heigl, who has an adopted older sister and an adopted daughter, finds the cause "close to her heart."
