Between a rock and a bigoted place…
As you've probably heard by now, musical acts like Bruce Springsteen, Ringo Starr, and even Cirque du Soleil have all cancelled their upcoming shows in NC due to their anti-LGBT House Bill 2, and the former Disney stars jumped on the bandwagon last Monday.
The Future Now Tour was originally supposed to hit Charlotte and Raleigh on June 30 and July 2… but that's no longer in the cards.
Nick spoke about the difficult decision to potentially upset North Carolina fans while at the Propel pop-up fitness studio in Venice on Wednesday, saying:
The pop powerhouses were supposed to play shows in both Raleigh and Charlotte, but have decided to pull the plug on those performances because of the state's anti-LGBTQ legislation.
About a month ago, Governor Pat McCrory signed House Bill 2, which states that local cities and towns can no longer create their own rules banning discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
HB2 also says that transgender individuals must use the bathrooms that match the "biological sex" on their birth certificates in public schools, government agencies, and public college campuses.
In light of this terrible piece of legislation, the musicians announced on Monday that their Honda Civic Tour: Future Now will not be stopping in NC, sharing their joint statement on Instagram.

She used to be a cast member! Of course, when she tells musical guest Nick Jonas the YEAR she was on SNL, things do get a little awkward.
But that's nothing next to the full stop at crazy town that is Aidy Bryant's jealous rage over Nick… not that we blame her…

It's okay, Nick Jonas — first kisses are rarely perfect!
In a fun interview with BBC Radio 1, Nick dished on his first girlfriend EVER, Miley Cyrus. The two dated for a hot minute back when Miley still donned a Hannah Montana wig and fans have yet to stop talking about it!!
For admirers still holding out for a Jonas and Cyrus reunion, that possibility is extremely dim thanks to Liam Hemsworth… but the show did throw us a bone with a tale about the former couple's first kiss!
According to N.J., the smooch had all the trappings of a perfect and classy moment — California Pizza, Hollywood, and tourists. Oh, and the peck was extremely STINKY.
Yep, we can't make this stuff up!
Recalling the embarrassing yet adorable moment, the singer revealed:
