Who needs Speedo and Ralph Lauren when you can have… Pine Brothers throat drops?!
As we reported on Tuesday, the disgraced swimmer lost four sponsorships including Airweave, a Japanese mattress company, and Gentle Hair Removal.
Well, it looks like things are coming up for Lochte (sort of)!
On Thursday, the lozenge company announced the Olympics star will appear in their print ads and commercials. Appropriately, their campaign will be about how the drops are "forgiving on your throat." Oh boy…
According to CEO Rider McDowell:
Ryan Lochte's brand has taken a huge hit since his Rio Olympics scandal!
The swimmer received a lot of backlash for "exaggerating" a story of being robbed at gunpoint during this year's games, leaving him with two less sponsors.
Now, the number has doubled.
Despite the CEO of Airweave, Motokuni Takaoka, previously saying they would stand by the 32-year-old, in a statement made on Monday the brand announced:
The bad news keeps rolling in for Ryan Lochte.
As we told you, the Olympian was dropped by his longtime sponsor Speedo after all his crazy "tantics" (LOL) in Rio.
Considering we noticed the athlete was no longer on the designer's website, this doesn't come as a huge surprise.
The company's statement to CNBC read:
Sh*t keeps hitting the fan for Ryan Lochte!
The disgraced swimmer is not only known as a liar after making up a story about being robbed at gunpoint in Rio during the Olympics, but now some of his most lucrative endorsement contracts are being dissolved.
That's gotta hurt more than holding your breath during the 4×200m freestyle relay!
Speedo released a statement Monday essentially ending its relationship with the 12-time Olympic medalist, saying:
Wow! Someone actually took the time to count the tiny stars on the American Olympians' uniforms!
Imagine how bored this Redditor must've been! Or maybe they just love to count things. Some people do. We're not judging.
Well, we're sort of judging. However, it is kind of odd that there would be 48 stars on a flag patch on a t-shirt specifically designed for Team USA by Ralph Lauren.
Was there really not enough room for two more stars? Couldn't some of the stars have scooted over to make room for numbers 49 and 50?!
Take a closer look (below)!
Yep, that's definitely only 48 stars there! At least the number of stripes is accurate.
P.S. The shirts are completely sold out on the Ralph Lauren site.
