But there were NO wires coming out of any of the Red Hot Chili Pepper’s instruments during their Super Bowl Halftime Show with Bruno Mars on Sunday!
After all the accusations from fans saying they were faking it, bass player Flea is ready to admit that they were indeed just playing air guitar up there!
He posted an explanation though as to WHY the band didn’t plug in for their big performance.
He’s blaming the NFL! Apparently it was the league that wanted the band to pre-record their musical track and only have Anthony singing live!
In a wordy message on RHCP’s web site, he explained:

Bruno Mars hit the end zone with his stellar Super Bowl XLVIII halftime performance.
Bruno drummed, danced, and crooned his way through his hits Locked Out Of Heaven, Treasure, and Just The Way You Are.
Red Hot Chili Peppers' guest appearance can't even be compared to Destiny's Child 's reunion last year, but their performance of Give It Away did make for a nice 90s throwback moment.

They're calling it the Philippines’ Biggest Music Event of the Year – the 7107 International Music Festival!

Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith found out the hard way Brazilian fans do NOT joke around when it comes to soccer during a drumming clinic in Belo Horizonte!
Things seemed to be go smoothly at first, but they quickly took an ugly turn when he was gifted a Flamengo FC jersey, which is one of the more popular teams in Brazil!
Chad thought it would funny to stuff the jersey down his pants and pretend to wipe his fanny with it, but the fans were not amused and immediately booed him, with one even throwing something at his head!
The drummer took to Twitter to apologize, writing:
