Scarlett Johansson must have been so inspired by Woody Allen. She's takin' a whack at directing now!

But it wasn't all her doing… singer/songwriter Jessie Baylin invited her to direct this music video for Hurry, Hurry.

And we have to say.. this one's obviously a debut!!

…but it's not a bad debut. It's just nothing to write home about…

As for Jessie, she didn't do so bad herself with this one.

Scarlett and Jessie have been friends for a while now. ScarJo even went to her wedding to Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill back in 2009!

So watch it and then tell us what U think!! Is she the next great director?

Even though ScarJo's mom is broke as a joke (JK), the actress says that there's no bad blood between them.

We earlier reported that Scarlett cut the financial cord between her and her mom. And, now her mom, Melanie Sloan is having problems paying the mortgage on her NYC apartment.

ScarJo's rep says they're no rift though, adding:

"Scarlett and Melanie are as close as they have ever been. They are incredibly proud of the solid and productive professional partnership they had through the many years they worked together. Their personal relationship is solid and loving."

We hope that's true. We'd hate to see mom and daughter fight over money troubles. Can't you just help your mom out a tiny bit, Scarlett??

Scarlett Johansson owes her big Hollywood success to her mom, but that doesn't mean she's gonna give her mom money!

ScarJo's ex-momanger, Melanie Sloan got her daughter her first movie (North) when she was just 9-years-old. Sloan made a killing - and helped her daughter make 90 times that -- acting as her manager for her daughter for over 15 years.

But life has changed a lot since her darling daughter dropped her a for a new manager back in 2009!

Momma Johansson can't option the mortgage to a NYC apartment -- even though she already made the down payment. Now she's in a lawsuit with the seller, demanding she be returned her down payment.

Our source suggests that the CA mom was looking to move to NYC to be closer to ScarJo, but that's doesn't mean her richass daughter is gonna help her out!

Now that we are in the new year, its time to start thinking about some of the most anticipated flicks of 2012. Some chapters are ending - The Dark Knight Rises, Breaking Dawn: Part Two, but some are just beginning, like The Hunger Games and most especially, The Avengers.

If ever there was a movie to get pumped about, this Joss Whedon venture would be the one. And if you need some incentive to get into the spirit, look no further than this here new poster for the movie.

We know he's Iron Man, but must we cover Robert Downey Jr. smokeshow face like that! Seriously, is that necessary! LOL!

So, Scarlett Johansson doesn't like to be called ScarJo, which is a shame, because it's so much easier to write ScarJo instead of her full name (which is 17 letters long).

Here's what she said about it:

"Oh, it's awful. It's a laziness … People can't actually say the whole name? It's just bizarre … so Cate Blanchett is not, like, 'CaBla'? Why is that? Why do I have to get stuck with [ScarJo]?"

You should feel lucky to get a super awesome abbreviated name! It's an honor!

And CaBla doesn't sound right, obviously.

Now that Scarlett Johansson is finding the higher purpose in her life, she wants to explore it through the lives of her characters.

So no more whiny brat roles for her! Ohh no, she's only taking on roles with substance now. She's a serious actress.
