Williams Beats Williams

81830107.jpg

Usually when Venus and Serena Williams play against each other, it's a shitty match to watch.

Thankfully, that wasn't the case at the Wimbledon Women's Finals on Saturday.

This time, Venus prevailed.

After losing five Grand Slam titles to her little sister, V took the prized Wimbledon title 7-5, 6-4.

AND, the Williams sisters also won the women's doubles championship.

Congrats!

Now this is how you do it!

Serena Williams pulled a Diddy.

The tennis star had a nosh at L'Avenue restaurant in gay Paris on Thursday.

She didn't take too kindly to the rain, though!

So, what's a girl to do????

Have your own Personal Umbrella Handler, of course!

Does she have someone wipe her ass after she shits too????

Love Is In The Air

Love, game, set, hookup!

Tennis sensation Serena Williams is getting quite cozy with hip-hop artist Common.

The pair were spotted last month at a Hollywood nightclub getting very chummy while out clubbing.

This past weekend, the two were club hopping once again, this time in Miami.

Serena and Common were spotted holding hands at a Knight's Head Microbrew party at South Beach's Mokai.

They were also spotted trying to get into Prive Nightclub. Unfortunately for the two, they were denied access. The reason? Common violated the dress code policy since he was wearing shorts.

Oh please, you know if Jay-Z showed up there in daisy dukes, they'd let him in!

Apparently, though, the two are really hitting it off. Common recently said "I'm attracted to women that are strong in the sense of who they are. I like women who have power to them, but can still be ladylike and that have their own dreams."

We give this relationship, 6 months. Max.

New Couple Alert!

Serena Williams and Common were spotted leaving West Hollywood club Villa together this past weekend.

They be dating? Yup!

The tennis titan and soulful crooner appeared together in Common's latest video, I Want You. They were also spotted hand in hand at a New York party last week, and they have been rumored to be dating over the past few months.

Looks like the lovebirds are coming out of hiding - just in time for spring!

Racism in Women's Tennis?

serenavenus.jpg

Larry Scott, the head of the Women's Tennis Association, issued a strong statement in response to assertions made by Richard Williams (poppa of Serena and Venus) to the international press regarding racism on the women's tour.

(A man is in charge of the women's tour????)

Scott stated, “The Tour has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to racism, and I have previously let Mr. Williams know that he should let me know if he ever had evidence of racist comments or acts in women’s professional tennis.”

While his daughters were playing earlier this month in Bangladore, India, Poppa Williams told the country's Deccan Herald, “Well, I’m black and I’m prejudiced, very prejudiced. People are prejudiced in tennis. I don’t think Venus or Serena was ever accepted by tennis. They never will be.”

He said the media treated his daughters unfairly, that it was “the worst media job that they have done on any human being in the world,” and that if he were Serena and Venus, he would have quit playing.

“But if you get some little white no-good trasher in America like Tracy Austin or Chris Evert, who cannot hit the ball, they (the media) will claim this is great,” he said.

The women's tennis head said, “Champions like Chris Evert and Tracy Austin have done so much to help build women’s tennis to where it is today, and it is regrettable that anyone would criticize them in this manner.”

A note to the two of them. Pick up the phone. Get together..talk it out. Trading statements via the press isn't helping anything.

Oprah needs to come on board and mediate!

When Celebrities Blog

This one's for the ladies!

Serena Wiliams has been hurt. The tennis pro has just written an impassioned entry on her official website about men, dating and relationships.

She says:

"You just start dating a guy. He likes you, you like him. You guys want to spend every second together. When you are not with him you are talking to him on the phone. You have deep feelings for him. The feelings keep developing. They keep growing. You begin to think this could be it. You begin to think I really think this is it for me….. You love being together. You can't stand being without each other. You start to feel like you have never felt before, and you do things for him you have never done before. He tells you he doesn’t want to be with you and only you. He tells you he adores you. He tells you u guys were meant for each other. You care for him. You are falling for him. You take things slow. You don't want to make any mistakes. You go slower with him than you have ever done before. You don't rush to introduce him to your friends, let alone anyone else. You want it to be right. You are feeling this and you feel this could mean something. He communicates with you. He thanks God you are in his life. You guys have fun together. You laugh together. He talks about being and becoming serious with you. He talks about his desire to love you one day. He talks about he can't imagine not being with you. You think he's falling in love with you. But you can't be 100% sure. You guys have not said that sacred 4 letter word that starts with an "L". But you feel it deep deep in you. Deeper than you have in a long time.

You ask him "are we moving too fast"? He replies "We are just following our hearts." You start to trust him. Something you have not done since your first heart break. How long ago was that? You wonder. Trust is something you vowed you would never do again. But slowly your heart comes out of its steel enclosure. You feel like you can trust him. You feel as if everything you went though was for a reason. And the reason was to meet him. Days turns into weeks. And he tells you about the connection you guys have in each others hearts.

Weeks turns into months and you slowly start to wean the other guys in your life out. And than it happens. No not the "L" word. But what you have been most afraid of. What deep in your heart you have been afraid to confront. What you always suspected would happen one day sooner or later. HE STOPS CALLING. You panic. But you try to stay calm. He did this before when you first started talking, but u tried to forget it. You knew u should have not forgotten. But u tried to ignore it. He disappears for a week with no phone call. No answer to yours no nothing. Finally you hear from him. You want to rage you want to scream you want to cry. But you can't help you heart from feeling a tad bit happy."
