And Katie Couric delivers the CBS Evening News while Howie Mandel hosts Deal or No Deal. As sad a statement as that may be, don't feel too bad for Katie. She's pocketing $15 million a year! Forbes revealed their highest paid primetime television personalities with Simon Cowell topping the list at $75 million! And that's just on American television! Cowell appears on both Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor in the UK. But the moral of this story is that Howie Mandel makes $15 million a year! It's inspirational! If he can do it, so can you! This should be interesting! Funny folks Steve Carell and Tina Fey star in Date Night, an upcoming film in which a married couple's weekly night out is beset with comedic disaster. With Carell and Fey at the comedy's helm and a support cast which includes the likes of Mark Wahlberg, Leighton Meester, James Franco, Kristen Wiig, Mark Ruffalo, Ray Liotta, Common, Mila Kunis and Taraji P. Henson, Date Night is one of the most anticipated new movies of 2010. It'll probably suck! [Images via WENN.] Permalink / 28 comments (RSS) / Forward this post » Full House On the Big Screen?!
Uncle Jesse is putting his producer hat on! John Stamos confesses that he’s thinking about developing a Full House feature film!!! “I’m working on a movie idea, but it wouldn’t be us playing us I’m not 100% sure, but it would probably take place in the first few years,” said the former sitcom star. He even had casting recommendations! “I see Steve Carell as [Bob Saget’s character] Danny Tanner and Tracy Morgan as [Dave Coulier’s] Joey Gladstone because he’s funny," offered the thesp. And to play Stamos' Jesse Katsopolis? James Franco!!! Hawt! [Image via WENN.] Permalink / 54 comments (RSS) / Forward this post » Funnyman Carell Bought a Store In These Craptacular Economic Times
Part-time Massachusetts resident, funny man Steve Carell, bought the Marshfiled Hills General Store on the state's south shore. Carell has put his sister-in-law in charge of the 155-year old establishment. The store's previous owner said that she and her husband sold the biz to the star after being convinced that he wanted it "for the right reasons." How much were those 'right reasons' worth? So one of the hottest scripts floating around the Hollywood movie market is about a beaver. No, it's not a porn. It's a "whimsical" movie about a man who walks around with a beaver puppet on his hand (Heehee!) that is being described as a mix between Being John Malkovich and Lars and the Real Girl. Anonymous Content - who picked up the script by first-timer Kyle Killen - has Steve Carell attached to the script. Though many studios are interested, Anonymous is holding out until they have a director attached as well. What's next? A Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood movie? Congrats, funny man! Steve Carell just landed a 3-year first-look deal with Warner Bros. Pictures. $$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!! Carell's production company has been named Carousel Prods. It will be run by his pals Vance DeGeneres and Charlie Hartsock. And their offices will be situated on the WB lot. In a statement to industry rag Variety, Carell said, "My idea was to partner with friends of mine, people I trusted, with whom I share a certain sensibility. I have some ideas for films, but I’ve gotten to know so many people who are funny, talented and fertile with ideas that I’m confident this very strong base of friendships will lead to projects." Carell also plans to produce pics that will not be starring vehicles for him. We expect a lot of funny to come from them! And a little suck too. Steve Carell and company scored! According to new reports, The Office will air in the highly-coveted post-Super Bowl spot on NBC. The Office "spinoff" was originally going to air after the Big Game, but the suits reconfigured the plans when the The Office exec producer decided to create an entirely different workplace comedy starring Amy Poehler. We hope to see Green Bay in the Superbowl! [Image via WENN.] Permalink / 16 comments (RSS) / Forward this post » 3 More Years
NBC must be doing cartwheels! The Office mastermind, Brit comedy genius Ricky Gervais, revealed on his blog that Steve Carell has signed a contract for three more years of 'Michael Scott 'madness with the U.S. version of the show. We're sure Steve banked a rich deal! Gervais went on to say that the team's working hard on The Office spinoff but wouldn't reveal any details. The spinoff has a lot to live up to!
