Prison has been good to T.I.
Well, at least to his clothing line, AKOO.
Turns out the rapper’s clothing line had a spike in sales by 25% during the time he was locked up.
And with T.I. getting released next week, the company is getting ready for another spike in popularity.
A rep for the collection reveals the last big spike was during his MTV reality show back in 2009, Road to Redemption.

He just can't get away from legal problems!
In the suit, the TV execs claim they've had the Akoo trademark for years and are demanding the rapper stop using their brand name. Akoo insists TI is misleading and deceiving consumers and potential clients.
Umm, we're pretty sure their clients are smart enough to figure out that Akoo International and AkooClothing are completely different things, not to mention unrelated.
We're innerested to see how this plays out in court.

Who new residents of Newark were so prude?
Looks like the new ad for rapper T.I.'s clothing line, AKOO, is causing many heads to spin.
The ad, which features a lady's head near a guy's unbuttoned jeans is leading many to say the ad is inappropriate.
According to a Rutgers marketing professor, “What’s the message here? ‘If I wear these clothes more women will want to have sex with me.'”
But even City Council President Mildred Crump is upset.
Says Crump, “I’m so sick of people seeing Newark as a place where they can do whatever they want. They think they can put it in a black community and nobody is going to say or do anything.”
Is race really an issue with this ad? Cause we've seen plenty of skimpier and sexier ads before. What's so bad about this one…
For all anyone knows, the sexy lady might just be helping her guy pal remove his pants.
Even Mayor Corey Booker commented, "So often when I am out in the community I see kids wearing their pants too low… I will work with my city council to see if we can address it so we don't see these types of advertisements displayed in our city in the near future."
Do U think people are overreacting about the ad?
After spending 9 months in jail, TI is wasting no time getting back to work with his clothing line AKOO.
In the middle of March AKOO will be releasing a limited edition signature chronograph watch with G-Shock.
AKOO co-founder Jason Geter says TI's "prison time is definitely a challenge in trying to build our brand right now. But so is the celebrity thing, and that’s what we tried to address from the start. In this space you have the gift and the curse of being yet another artist-driven fashion brand. There’s so much of that, people expect it to fizzle out quickly, so we are killing that idea with quality.”
Only 1,000 of the purple and gold accented watches are being released and will retail for $180.
