Wesley Snipes Tries To Re-Finance His House While He's Still Behind Bars!

Well. At least he's being production while he's behind bars!

Wesley Snipes, who is currently serving time for tax evasion, is reportedly attempting to re-finance his Alpine, NJ mansion for $1.6 million through his lawyers, who have apparently made an agreement with a mortgage company, although as a stipulation, the actor will be expected to make balloon interest payments in full when he gets out in 2013!

A source explains:

"All of Wesley's bank accounts are wiped out. His four kids have nothing to live on."

And his rep confirms:

"As you can imagine, it is true that his family is having financial challenges, mainly due to his current situation."

Geesh! What a mess!

We're happy to hear that he's taking action and attempting to help his family, but it's just too bad that he didn't take the time to consider this scenario and what it would do to his loved ones BEFORE he got himself in this much shiz!

Fingers crossed that you'll be able to work all this out, boy!

Joaquin Phoenix Is Still Here AND May Return To Acting…To Hunt Vampires

| Filed under: Film FlickersJoaquin PhoenixWesley Snipes

joaquin may fight vampires with abe lincoln

Back in September, Joaquin Phoenix was ALL over the news, until we learned that his "documentary" I'm Still Here was fake and then nobody went to see it.

For those of you out there who haven't had a chance to check out Joaquin's "doc" on Instant Netflix, you MAY get another chance to see Phoenix return to real acting in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

Joaquin is up for the role of Honest Abe's mentor in director Timur Bekmambetov's film.

We think this would be a great move for Joaquin!

Vampire killing is always a solid way to jump start someone's career again except for Wesley Snipes.

Would U like to see Joaquin Phoenix show the 16th President how to kill vampires?

Introducing Marvel's Next Superhero…The Black Panther!

| Filed under: Film FlickersWesley Snipes

marvel making black panther movie

No, this isn't a gritty version of those silly Steve Martin detective movies…but it's probs almost time for them to reboot THAT franchise as well! LOLz.

Marvel Studios has begun development on their new film Black Panther. The story revolves around a "king of a resource-rich fictional African country who becomes a super hero."

For those of you out there who aren't up on your obscure-comic-book-character knowledge, the Black Panther first arrived in a 1966 Fantastic Four comic, and is renowned for being the "first black hero in mainstream comics."

Apparently, Columbia took a shot at a Black Panther movie in the early '90s with Wesley Snipes, but things didn't work out for the film or for Wesley.

Should be an inneresting project, especially because the writer, Mark Bailey, is known for his writing credits on documentaries including Pandemic: Facing AIDS and Ghosts of Abu Ghraib.

We're not sure exactly what to expect with this one, but our curiosity has been piqued.

Are U intrigued by the Black Panther?

Wesley Snipes Files Appeal To The Supreme Court

| Filed under: Legal MattersWesley Snipes

Even in prison, Wesley Snipes is making sure his voice gets heard!

Attorneys for the actor have filed a new appeal, asking the court to let him out of prison so that he can take his case all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Snipes is asking the Court of Appeals to overturn their decision that ordered him to jail last week. He believes he deserves a new trial because there was an alleged juror bias during his tax evasion case.

Seems pretty ballsy! But, you can't blame him for wanting to fight!

Thoughts??

Wesley Snipes In Jail!

Thanks for nothing, Larry King!

Wesley Snipes has reportedly been put into federal custody to begin his 3 year prison sentence for tax evasion. The news was confirmed by Traci Billingsley, Chief Public Information Officer for the Bureau of Prisons, who told sources:

"Wesley Snipes has self surrendered to the minimum security Federal Prison Camp at the Federal Correctional Institution McKean, in Bradford, Pennsylvania."

You know, calling it "camp" instead of "jail" doesn't really make is sound more fun. Just saying.

Because Of Larry King, Wesley Snipes Might Not Go To Jail!

| Filed under: Legal MattersLarry KingWesley Snipes

wesley-snips-larry-king-live-evidence-juror.jpg

Last night, Wesley Snipes was on Larry King Live to talk about his tax evasion conviction and his upcoming court ordered vacation to prison.

During the show, Larry read aloud a statement from one of the jury members on Wesley's case. The juror admitted that there was "one juror that had said they knew Mr. Snipes was guilty right when they first saw him during the jury selection."

Apparently, that person has never heard the phrase "innocent before proven guilty" or the phrase "keep your mouth shut."

With this kind of evidence, Wesley's legal team can now claim a mistrial on the basis of juror misconduct. Moments ago, they rushed to file an emergency motion for a new trial.

No word yet if the judge is allowing the motion or if Wesley will still be carted off to prison tomorrow.

If he doesn't, that's what we call one hell of a lucky break!

Wesley Snipes To Begin Jail Sentence Next Week

| Filed under: Legal MattersWesley Snipes

wesley-snipes-to-serve-jail-time.jpg

Time is running out!

Wesley Snipes is scheduled to begin his 3-year jail sentence for tax evasion on Dec. 9 at noon.

The actor has been free on bail since his 2008 conviction and has unsuccessfully attempted to overturn his case. He'll be reporting to a federal prison in Pennsylvania.

In response to his sentence, U.S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges said, "The Defendant Snipes had a fair trial … The time has come for the judgment to be enforced."

Yikes.

He did the crime and now he must do the time.
