Wednesday marks such a monumental moment!
Five years ago, Simon Cowell joined together five souls in musical matrimony, that would go on to be the biggest boy band in recent history.
One Direction was given a second chance on the show, and went on to secure third place overall. But it's safe to say the fivesome might as well have won.
1D became a global sensation, and Harry took to Twitter on the group's anniversary to share sentimental statuses about their incredible journey:
The talk show wars just added a kunning kompetitor: Khloe Kardashian!
The K-fam's youngest sister will be the host of Kocktails With Khloe, a brand new talk show set to debut later this year on the new FYI Network.
In a statement on Tuesday, the 31-year-old said:
So, so sad.
On Sunday, Simon Cowell's mom, Julie, passed away at 89.
That night, a spokesperson for the music mogul's family released this statement:
"Today our beloved mum Julie passed away. Anyone who had met her would know what a truly special and kind lady she was. We are heartbroken and will miss her terribly, but she is now at peace."
The spokesperson also continued that the family is hoping for some privacy during this trying time, saying:
"We would like to thank the media for kindly respecting Julie's privacy throughout and we politely request continued privacy for the entire family at this particularly difficult time."
And part of this privacy means putting a pause of X Factor UK. A spokesperson for Simon's production company, Syco Entertainment, revealed that Monday's Manchester auditions have been canceled:
Shade, thy name is Reid!!!
The head honcho over at Epic Records, one L.A. Reid, is now speaking out about his time on The X Factor, and you have to see the quotes to believe what he's saying!
Speaking in Cannes, France at a Pepsi-sponsored breakfast talk, Reid spoke very honestly about his time on the show and dealing with the pitfalls of competition and reality TV:
"It's the worst thing I've ever done. The first season, yes, I had a great time. It was a little bit of a vacation. I'd been making music, working at running labels for a long time, and it was a little bit of, 'Let me just have some fun.' But the second season I was fully engaged trying run a label, and it wasn't fun anymore."
Ok, so far, not too bad — everybody wants a break from the daily grind, right?
Well… he continued:
It's been a minute since these ladies were in the spotlight, but we're excited to see them shine again!
Kelly Rowland is doing the least Kelly Rowland thing of her career and getting a show of her own! Chasing Destiny will follow Kel as she tries to find the next female singing sensation.
The 34-year-old is no stranger to reality competitions since she was a judge for both X Factor UK and USA, so her take on the genre will hopefully prove to be entertaining.
But not to be outdone, Brandy is also making a comeback with a brand-new sitcom!
Zoe Moon will feature Brandy as a recently divorced single mother trying to balance her career and family. And since Brandy made a name for herself by starring on Moesha, we're confident this new show will be right up her alley!
Both series were announced as part of the BET line up on Tuesday, so you should be able to watch them in early 2016!
Will U be tuning in??

It looks like Louis Tomlinson is heading in a new direction!
The untitled label is an imprint of Cowell's Syco label, and the 23-year-old reportedly has already signed X Factor UK finalist Jack Walton!
Wow! Louis doesn't waste any time!
So, does this mean that Louis will pull a Zayn Malik and bring 1D to a threesome? It looks like we don't have to get our pitchforks ready yet, as he and the remaining band members are working on their next album.
The singer is really excited about this new opportunity to work with emerging artists, and said this about his new venture:
