Zachary Quinto had a rough go when it came to adopting his first dog.

How rough was it? He has turned his dog hijinks into a short film!

In Dog Eat Dog, the flick retells Zachary's experiences when he decided to adopt his dog from the El Lay Animal Shelter.

Watch (above) as the video puts a cute and thoughtful take on the process of picking a companion.

And we guess Zachary Quinto and his boyfriend Jonathan Groff are cute too! LOLz!

The couple spent some time feeling the burn with their pooches in Los Feliz.

Everyone, dog an man, looked cheerful as they trotted along, hand in leash in hand!

So CUTEz!

Using crowd sourced funding from kickstarter.com, Zachary Quinto and his friend Sian Heder, are going to make a film about dog adoption.

The film will be called Dog Eat Dog and it's about a story that happened to Zachary about nine years ago when he wanted to adopt a dog.

Check out the above video for the pitch to the kickstarter crowds to try and get their film funded.

The film has already reached its goal but is still accepting donations because some of the proceeds will go to the Humane Society.
